Ingrailed Clay

    Diarsia mendica

    Occurring throughout the county, though being commonest in areas retaining significant semi-natural habitat.  Numbers fluctuate from year to year but the moth appears to be in decline.  This is a variable species, both in its coloration and in the strength of its markings.
