Small Wainscot

    Denticucullus pygmina

    NoctuidaeABH 73.144 B&F 2350

Like many of its relatives, an insect of damp places.  Abounds on mire habitat in the far west of the county, and fairly common on other wetland sites throughout, wandering to garden light in small numbers.  Understandably scarce where there is little wetland habitat, on much of the Mendips and the east of the county.

    Adult Verification Grade: 2
