Grey Rush Case-bearer

Records show this moth to be fairly common and widespread across the county, but this probably understates the picture. This species is separable only with great difficulty from C. alticolella, and unidentifiable cases of one or other species abound on rushes in damp situations, especially on Exmoor.

Buff Rush Case-bearer

Fairly common but patchily distributed.&nbsp; Most records are of adults attracted to light, which require dissection; the species is typically found on nature reserves, but it is recorded occasionally in gardens.&nbsp; The larval cases, on various species of rush, have been found in the county occasionally.

Jointed-rush Case-bearer

A single record, from Shapwick Heath in 1994.&nbsp; Whilst the moth is rare, the larval foodplant Jointed Rush Juncus articulatus is not, being found in every 10 km square in the county and especially well distributed in the Gordano Valley, parts of the Levels and Exmoor.
