Coleophora laricella

    Larch Case-bearer

A fairly common coleophorid, occasionally recorded at light but more often as a larval case on larches.  Most larches in Somerset are from plantations on Exmoor, from where we have very few records of the moth - probably because it has never been looked for - but the moth is certainly not restricted to plantations, as it has been found in urban and suburban areas of Bath and Weston-super-Mare.
