Sloe Pug

First recorded in Britain in 1971, it inhabits hedges, thorn scrub and woodland edges, where the larva feeds on Blackthorn flowers. Found mainly in the Thames Valley, East Anglia and the Midlands. Thinly recorded in small numbers in the county. When fresh may be faintly green, so needs to be distinguished with care from Green Pug.

Widespread and common right across the county.

Common and widespread, though numbers fluctuate from year to year.&nbsp; Double-brooded, though much more abundant in the summer than the spring.
