    A moth of upland, semi-natural acidic grassland and heather moors, where it can be locally extremely common.  Widespread on Exmoor, Quantock and Mendip, though apparently absent from the Blackdowns and from the peatlands on the Levels.  There are occasional wanderers found elsewhere in the county.
