Broom Moth

    Ceramica pisi

    NoctuidaeABH 73.271 B&F 2163

A moth of semi-natural, acidic habitats (despite the English name, it is not restricted to areas with broom); as a result, it is found patchily across the county where its habitat occurs.  The populations in Exmoor and the Quantocks appear stable but there are some signs that it is losing ground in the east of the county.  There are a number of records of the moth coastally between Burnham-on-Sea and Clevedon, suggestive of migrants.

    Adult Verification Grade: 1
