Caryocolum vicinella

    Coast Groundling

    GelechiidaeABH 35.13 B&F 826

A single larval record, from Hurlstone Point in 2007.  The larval hostplant is Sea Campion Silene uniflora, and it may occur at other sites supporting this plant; the larvae make a spinning out of the leaves which can be found in April or May.  Both plant and moth can also be found inland at former lead-mining sites, so this moth might be found on the Mendips at Priddy Mineries or Charterhouse.
