Three-colour Groundling

Only a few records, but doubtless considerably under-recorded.&nbsp; The distinctive larvae can be found, with patience, by searching quiet lanes and hedgerows in March, looking for spinnings amongst the terminal shoots of Greater Stitchwort <i>Stellaria holostea</i>&nbsp;(it is helpful to make a note the previous year of where the plant can be found).

Short-barred Groundling

Only a few records of this moth, with a bias towards the south and west of the county.&nbsp; The foodplant, Greater Stitchwort <i>Stellaria holostea</i>, is far from rare and the moth may be under-recorded.&nbsp; In early spring the larva mines the leaves, moving on to forming a spinning in May.
