Common White Wave

Widespread and common, though care needs to be taken to separate it from the almost equally numerous Common Wave <i>Cabera exanthemata</i>.

Common Heath

Local and restricted to areas where heathers occur, chiefly Exmoor, the Quantocks and Mendips, but also occurring very locally elsewhere.&nbsp; The adults fly by day and are variable in colour and in the strength of their markings.

Scarce, local, and probably in
decline; seems to be associated with semi-natural habitat, and absent from the
more agricultural east of the county.
