Birch Bent-wing

Scarce, associated with
birches.&nbsp; Most records are from Exmoor
and the Quantocks.&nbsp; Rare elsewhere –
Asham Wood (2015), Shapwick Heath (1984), Penselwood (1932).

Oak Bent-wing

Despite the scientific name,
associated with oak, not elm, and most records are of leaf-mines on oak.&nbsp; Commonest in woodlands but also occurs on
hedgerow oaks in areas where these are plentiful.&nbsp; Not recorded from several parts of the
county, in some instances perhaps through lack of recording, put possibly
genuinely absent from others through lack of host plant.

Hawthorn Bent-wing

Scarce on hawthorn, and appears to
be declining.&nbsp; Most records are from the
Taunton area.
