Cherry Lift

This species has recently been split into two distinct species - 'true' A. treitschkiella is now known to be associated with cornelian cherry Cornus mas, and has not been recorded to date in Somerset (in Britain now known only from the London area).&nbsp; The former Somerset records for this species are all now attributable to A. petryi.

Yellow-spot Lift

A. petryi is the true identity of the species formerly recorded as A. treitschkiella in Somerset.&nbsp; It is usually recorded as a leaf-miner on dogwood Cornus sanguinea, and needs to be distinguished with care from another relative, A. metallella.&nbsp; A. petryi is considerably the commoner of the two species and occurs right across the county, perhaps being more abundant in the east.
