Orange Moth

    A woodland moth, occasionally wandering to light in gardens.  Confined to central southern Somerset.  Strong populations at Great Breach Wood and Thurlbear, and turns up irregularly elsewhere in the area.  Formerly frequently recorded at Shapwick and Street Heath, but not seen there since 2013.  Away from this district, used to be recorded frequently from Cogley Wood near Bruton - and may still occur here - but elsewhere is only an occasional wanderer.
