Beautiful Yellow Underwing

    Anarta myrtilli

    NoctuidaeABH 73.257 B&F 2142

A moth of heather moors.  The adults fly by day and it can also be found by looking for the highly cryptic larvae on heather.  It is still widely if infrequently recorded on heather-dominated areas of Exmoor, and also on Quantock.  Although there is now little suitable habitat, there are a few historic VC6 records, the last being in 1994 at Loxton Hill.

    Adult Verification Grade: 1
