Carline Flat-body

A calcareous grassland specialist, the larvae feeding on carline thistle.&nbsp; In Somerset only recorded from the western Mendips east to Cheddar Gorge and Burrington Combe (although curiously never recorded from Brean Down), and also at Goblin Combe not far to the north.&nbsp; Most records are of larvae on the foodplant.&nbsp; <br>

Rolling Carrot Flat-body

For many years known only from a record made by A. R. Hayward at Haselbury Park, in the far south of the county, on 30 April 1937.&nbsp; The second county record was from Brean Down on 21 July 2021.

Dusted Flat-body

Restricted by the distribution of its foodplant, broom.&nbsp; In recent years found in those areas of upland western Somerset that support the foodplant, chiefly the Quantocks but also the Brendons and Blackdowns.&nbsp; Formerly known from around Crewkerne and Bridgwater, but probably now gone from these areas.<br>
