Grey Dagger

    Acronicta psi

    NoctuidaeABH 73.038 B&F 2284

Widespread and common across the county.  Under-recorded because the adults cannot be separated from the much rarer Dark Dagger without examination of the genitalia.  The larvae are distinctive and fairly frequently observed, feeding on rosaceous trees and shrubs - apples, hawthorn, wild and cultivated roses, etc.

    Adult Verification Grade: 4
