A species of moors and damp heathland that is found mainly from Wales through to Scotland. Turner (1955) believed that two specimens at Shapwick in June 1912 may have been mistaken for the light form of Knot Grass. Since then, there have been just three county records, at Bruton, near Yeovil and at South Petherton.
