Marjoram Crest

Associated with marjoram, <i>Origanum vulgare</i>, a herb of calcareous grassland.&nbsp; Most of the 9 records relate to larvae on the
host plant, and come from the north of the county; perhaps surprisingly, there
are none from the Poldens or the Mendips proper.

Lichen Crest

Several records of this little-known species to light in the
Taunton area, 2005-19, also recorded from Langport (2009) and Bickenhall
(1959).&nbsp; These are the most
south-westerly British records.

Ash-coloured Crest

Scarce and local.&nbsp;
Most of the recent records are from Sand Bay, suggesting a resident
population there; also Priddy Mineries (2011) and Tickenham Hill (2001).&nbsp; Turner (1955) and the 1906 Victoria County
History give a range of records scattered widely across the county (though
excepting the west), so maybe this species has declined.
