December Moth

Widespread across the county, though under-recorded as a result of its flying extremely late in the year; possibly genuinely scarce on inland Exmoor owing to a shortage of suitable foodplant.<br>

Frosted Green

An oak-feeder with a patchy distribution in the county, commonest in a south-westerly band from Porlock to Crewkerne, also in the Poldens and south of Bristol.&nbsp; Appears to be very scarce or completely absent from the Levels and large areas of eastern Somerset.<br>

Yellow Horned

A birch-feeder, under-recorded through flying early in the year, but undeniably local in occurrence.&nbsp; Most frequently reported from the Quantocks and Blackdowns.&nbsp; No 21st century records from Leigh Woods/south of Bristol, the Mendips and Shapwick/Westhay - does this represent a species decline, or lack of recording early in the year in these areas?<br>
